College & Career Newsletters for NBHS Students will resume in August 2026. The most recent newsletter can be access here. Scholarships will continue to be updated throughout the summer for the Class of 2026. Rising seniors should begin exploring this list in September.

Students, your school counselor is your first stop in the future planning process. Please reach out to your school counselor with questions. 

 

  • NBHS welcomes college admissions representatives to visit during the school day throughout the fall. Interested juniors and seniors may sign up to receive a pass for the visit. All visits will take place in the NBHS College & Career Center (B211), unless otherwise noted. Students will need to complete a registration for each college, and only students with passes will be admitted to the visit. To assist students in learning more, upcoming visits are listed below during the school year. Questions? Contact your school counselor or email collegeandcareer@newbedfordschools.org.

  • The New Bedford Fall 2026 College Fair is scheudled for Tuesday, October 13 in the evening. College, technical school, and military representatives may register to particate with StriveScan. Details for students and families will be provided when the new school year begins. This fair is open to students in the New Bedford Public Schools as well as other area high schools. Last year, nearly 100 institutions attended this great event. Questions? Reach out to collegeandcareer@newbedfordschools.org.

    NBHS offers a robust Early College program for students. Participating students may earn up to 21 college credits during high school through partnerships with Bristol Community College, UMASS Dartmouth, and Bridgewater State University. Dedicated information is available on the Early College page.

    Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year has closed. Students entering grades 10 and 11 in the fall who would like to be on a waitlist for Early College should email EarlyCollege@newbedfordschools.org. A staff member will follow up with students directly. Incoming grade 9 students should complete the Early College Interest Survey found on the Early College page.

  • As you plan for college, check out MEFA's College Admissions and Financial Aid Timeline. Segmented by season, the timeline provides action steps to help students navigate the process of applying for college and financial aid. You will find links, important reminders, and key resources to guide them through the next several months.

  • Attention seniors-- It is necessary for all NBHS seniors to request college application materials through MEFA Pathway. Every senior has access to a MEFA Pathway account. Please login using Clever.The link below will assist students in connecting their Common Application to their MEFA Pathway account.
