Facility Use Requests

It is the School Committee's desire that maximum use of school property be enjoyed by the townspeople. It is the Committee's intent that such use will maintain safe conditions and preserve the property for school program use. Use of school buildings and other facilities by organizations will be permitted only when a worthy educational, civic, or charitable purpose will be served; or a substantial group of citizens from the community will be benefited.

To submit a request to reserve a New Bedford Public Schools Facility, click HERE. New users will need to register for a New Account. Existing Users will need to log-in. See detailed instructions listed below.

Note: 1 custodian is assigned for every 200 people.

Required Advance Notices:

  • Fourteen (14) days notice is required to submit rental reservations for all external groups.
  • Seven (7) days notice is required to submit rental reservations for all internal groups.
  • Four (4) days notice is required to cancel or edit rental reservations for all groups.
  • Twenty-four (24) hours notice is required to cancel custodial overtime in order to avoid paying a 3-hour minimum custodial fee.

Required Documents:
All renters must have a current Certificate of Liability Insurance (COL) on file with the School Department. The Certificate of Liability Insurance should include the following:

  1. The Certificate Holder should list “New Bedford Public Schools, 455 County Street, New Bedford, MA, 02740."

  2. New Bedford Public Schools needs to be listed as an Additional Insured. The “ADDL INSD” section for the Commercial General Liability should be checked “Y.”

  3. The minimum general liability limit required is $1,000,000.00 per occurrence with a $2,000,000.00 aggregate.

  4. Under “Description of Operations/Locations/Vehicles,” please include reference to New Bedford Public Schools being listed as an additional insured, and what specific event(s) and dates are insured.

Groups who are Non-Profit organizations must provide proof of non-profit status in the form of an IRS determination letter or the like.

All facility use requests are completed online. The first step needed to make an online facility use request is to create an ML Schedules user account.

For New Bedford Public Schools Staff ONLY:  To create an ML Schedules user account, click HERE or on the Register icon below and then select "Log in with Microsoft."

For All Other Users: To create an ML Schedules use account, click HERE or on the Register icon below. You will have the option to "Create New Account" or use Single Sign-On. Be sure to complete all fields and then click the submit button. If your registration was successful, you will receive an email confirmation.

Log-in and Reserve
